Safeguarding is not a policy we keep in a drawer, it shapes how every session, every mentor interaction, and every camp day is run. Here is exactly what that means in practice.

We are not a disciplinary camp

Boys to Men is a life readiness programme, not a bootcamp and not a disciplinary or correctional programme. There is no shouting, no punishment-based structure, and no military-style approach. Our results come from coaching, training, and mentorship, delivered through a calm, respectful approach, because that is what actually produces lasting change in a boy's character and confidence.

Every mentor is vetted and supervised

No mentor works with boys unsupervised or unknown to the team. Every mentor is known personally to the Boys to Men leadership, briefed on our safeguarding standards, and supervised throughout every session, not just at the start of camp.

Age-Appropriate Clustering

Boys are grouped by age automatically on arrival, so every activity, conversation, and expectation fits where a boy actually is.

Open Communication With Parents

Parents and guardians are kept informed before, during, and after camp, never left wondering what is happening.

A Calm, Respectful Environment

Mentors are trained to coach, not command. Boys are treated with dignity at every stage, never shamed or singled out.

Clear Boundaries for Mentors

Every mentor understands and agrees to clear conduct expectations before working with any boy.

Safe Physical Environments

Camp venues and activities are chosen and run with physical safety as a non-negotiable baseline.

A Real Reporting Path

Any concern, from a parent, a boy, or a mentor, has a clear, direct path to the leadership team, addressed promptly and seriously.
