Thomas Malunda

Thomas is an agriculturalist by profession, passionate about creating a positive impact in the world through research, writing, speaking, and innovation. He carries vast experience working with Ag-tech start-ups, agribusinesses, and farmers across Africa.

Thomas holds a second-class upper Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Land Use and Management from Makerere University, a Master of Science in Agroecology from Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi, and multiple further certifications spanning organic agriculture, sustainable agricultural finance, and digital learning.

He has previously worked with Buikwe District Local Government, the start-ups Wefarm Limited and Inputi Inc, and the Climate Change Institute Uganda NGO. He currently serves Opportunity International as Senior Regional Manager for the Farmer Support Services Team, leading work across the whole of Africa.

Away from work, Thomas practises and preaches agroecology through the MT Agro Eco Farm and the MT Agro Eco Tales YouTube channel, and hosts the Tom Thinking Series. He shares with the boys about life, goals, and emotional intelligence and meditation, a session that empowers boys to process their emotions, gain clarity on the future they want, and delay gratification.
