Dr. Joel Jaffer A'ita, Founder and Chairman of the Board, Joadah Consult | Chairman, Muni University Council | Author, mentor at Boys to Men Mentorship Camp

Joel is a pan-African infrastructure strategist, entrepreneur, and author with a proven record of transforming national development visions into bankable, fundable, and buildable projects. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Joadah Consult, and also chairs Development Infrastructure and the Joadah Design Institute.

Joadah Consult is a regional provider of professional technical and management support services, serving clients across several countries in the Great Lakes Region. Joel leads a team of experts including architects, engineers, designers, planners, scientists, and construction services professionals, delivering infrastructure that spans hospitals, universities, water and sanitation systems, roads, and investment-ready urban developments.

His selected key experience includes serving as Owner's Engineer for the $300 million Kampala Industrial and Business Park in Namanve, funded by UK Export Finance. Closer to home for the boys of West Nile, he also led the design, finance, and build of the Arua Hill Stadium and the Arua Market Project, both financed by the African Development Bank.

His portfolio further includes the 1,000-bed Mulago Specialized National Hospital and the 450-bed Specialized Maternal and Neonatal Hospital, funded respectively by the African Development Bank and the Islamic Development Bank, the design and supervision of the ultra-modern Uganda Heart Institute, the Yumbe and Kayunga Hospitals funded by the Saudi Fund, and the construction of four universities and institutions in Malawi funded by the African Development Bank.

Beyond Uganda, his work includes the design, finance, and build of the Pearl Eco City in Maputo, Mozambique, and the UN City Uganda project.

He has also delivered city roads across several municipalities under USMID, funded by the World Bank, the Busia Municipality Water and Sanitation Project, also funded by the World Bank, and the Kayonza Nyanza Water and Sanitation Project in Rwanda, funded by the African Development Bank.

As Chairman of the Muni University Council, Joel also operates at the intersection of infrastructure, education, and policy, and is widely regarded for his ability to structure complex projects, mobilise financing, and align diverse stakeholders, from governments and development finance institutions to private investors and communities.

Dr. A'ita first addressed the boys at the first ever edition of camp in Arua, speaking on becoming the kind of men Africa urgently needs, and returned as Chief Guest to close the Kampala intake Coronation event. His willingness to return to camp a second time, as its most senior guest, tells every parent that this programme attracts leaders operating at the highest levels of regional industry, and that their sons are being spoken to as future leaders in their own right.

Every mentor agrees to clear conduct expectations before working with any boy. See our full Safeguarding commitment.
